- Carolyn Ellis. The Ethnographic I: A Methodological Novel About Autoethnography. Walnut Creek: Alta Mira, 2004. 448 pp. ISBN 0-759-10051-9. -- an **excellent book** -- JDS

- Principles of Organizational Storytelling video (Release Date: 12/13/05) http://www.despair.com/spin.html
- The Story Factor (Simmons) - A pretty standard book in most people's "organizational storytelling" library. She lays out 6 "essential" story types and gives guidance on how to find & tell them. Reads a little like a PowerPoint presentation on the topic, but contains plenty of good advice. (Rudy Ruggles)
- Storytelling in Organizations (Brown, Denning, Groh, Prusak) - Pretty high-level and most of Steve's stuff will be familiar, but still some good pointers for "crafting" given various contexts and purposes. (Rudy Ruggles)
- Managing by Storying Around (Armstrong) - Armstrong's approach is quite heavy-handed. He does things that Steve and others advise against, like making story morals explicit (bullet-points and everything), but still worth a look. (Rudy Ruggles)
- Corporate Legends & Lore (Neuhauser) - Lots about listening & telling, but there are some pointers about crafting, including descriptions of several story archetypes and what elements are needed for each. (Rudy Ruggles)
- Shank, Roger (1995). Tell Me A Story: Narrative and Intelligence (Rethinking Theory). Northwestern University Press; Reprint Edition (December 20, 1995). (Useful book on narrative and learning theory - RBr)
- Shawn Callahan, Andrew Rixon, and Mark Schenk. The Ultimate Guide to anecdote Circles; a practical guide to facilitating storytelling and story listening.
